I ate so much watermelon when i was pregnant that after i had my little girl i didnt eat it for awhile. Watermelon is wonderful for the body especially if you are pregnant. it also fills you up fast and better than candy. I would cut one in half and eat out of it with a spoon!!! it was super funny, i wish there was a pic i could share.

It is always good to learn substitutes for my favorite foods that might not be best for me.

Review 8 for To Indulge Or Not To Indulge Let's Talk About Cravings
I think that your body craves what it needs during pregnancy. I have been a vegetarian for my entire life, never tasted or wanted to tase meat and remained firm and strong in that part of my life. With my 1st pregnancy the first thing I craved was chicken then bacon, never knowing what either tasted like at all. My dr. told me to eat it as my body probably needed it, I did and it tasted so good. The minute that baby was out I never touched it again, here I am in the second pregnancy and the first thing I craved was chicken. So I think we should indulge our cravings (to an extent) as our body is needing whatever it is we are craving. Salt, protien, calcium, ect.

I craved pasta with rich creamy sauces. Oh yum... always made me feel better. But, of course, in moderation. I tried to keep it to a nice sized serving once a week.

I have found that allowing yourself 1 soda a week ( like diet coke caffine free) satisfies my "coke" cravings....and I drink it in smaller glasses so that i'm thinking i'm drinking more than I actually am. Also, i have fallen in love with la croix, pamplemousse sparkling water.

Soda is the hardest thing for me. I really cut back, but just can't go that long without.
