ouch! my son just turned 1, and his molars are coming out...4 to be exact..and he is just a little warrior for being able to live through it!!! what i gave him was motrin for the pain and the fevers..it also really helps to relax him and get him to sleep. and i also let him bite on frozen bananas & frozen teethers.

My son loved Christian Rock music - Fireflight for one. =) Everytime I played it when I was pregnant, he would kick and move. =)

Using a cold teether has worked for me, also a wet wash cloth to chew on. And obviously teething gel.

My son just finished cutting his molars and now has two more teeth coming in what we have noticed is that it seems to be getting worse. My husband and I decided that the only time our son was going to get the pacifier was at night, but once we realized how fussy he could be he now uses the pacifier to soothe the pain or I recommend the teething ring.

My husband and I are huge music lovers, and musicians. We bought our son The Yellow Submarine Album by The Beatles, and he loves it. Were always playing music around him. He reacts to it with so much interest. He always smiles when he glances at the guitar hanging on the wall.

Not sure how old this article is, but FYI to anyone reading, our pediatrician has strongly cautioned against both teething gels and teething tablets. The first are out because some of the chemicals can cause neural damage in some cases, and the latter because most teething tablets have belladonna in them, which can be poisonous in some instances. That being the case, rubbing teething gel is out for us when molars will arrive (for now we have 6 teeth at 8 months, and it all has been brutal).
When tooth pain is really bad, i.e., so bad that baby can't sleep or has a slight fever, it's ok to give baby some tylenol for the pain.

I play gospel or Christian contemporary music for my baby. I don't have to worry about inappropriateness. Safe for the little ears.

We LOVE LOVE LOVE the Rockabye Baby remixes! We downloaded all of our favorite songs rock, county, pop, oldies, even a few heavy metal that have been remixed to sound classical all music no words and that is what he listens to all night with a ipod in his room. And when we are in the car and some of them come into the shuffle on the ipod its funny how you can tell what he likes better then others. He loves Queen and not so much of the beetles.

Classic music is the BEST!!! My husband would put Mozart when I was pregnant and now my baby is 1 month old and I always put Mozart or Beethoven .. this type of music I believe helps their brain develop ...Recommend it to all moms!!!

I am so glad I found this article. My 16 month son is starting to cut his molars and has been miserable. I use teething tablets not gel for fear of how strong it is. I will definitly be trying some of these tips to see if that will help relieve some of the pain. Thanks!!

All I listened to while I was pregnant was christian, but her daddy blared rap and hip hop in the car. So she listens to both. They keep her calm when she is hungry and we can't get a bottle to her right away because we are in the car or the bottle needs cleaned. She is also already holding her head up real well and trying to crawl, she isn't even two months yet, i think it is the christian music... :)

I believe music is good for babies especially classical or jazz. I am not too sure about hyper music at an early age, though. I think this would make them hyperactive. When I was pregnant I listened to classical music in my car on the way home from work (I was pretty stressed) and now my husband and I play it in the car for her to calm her down. It works right away. I am a strong believer for starting this when the baby is in the womb. It is a learned habit, it doesn't happen overnight.
