My 14 month old is not big on white milk so my husband puts OVALTINE witch is packed full of move vitamins and we all drink it so I recomend it. Its better than just chocolate syrup.

My 18 mos old baby girl hates whole milk but had no choice. She is always stealing her 6 mos old baby sister's formula. After reading this article, I tried giving her chocolate milk and she just love it. I notice she's not on the look out for formula as often as before.

My 14 moth old is not a big veggie eater. I made pizza tonight and he ate a whole piece! Even the veggies which were tomatoes, sweet onion, mushrooms, and red bell pepper all finely chopped. Great idea!

is there any way to make a child eat meat? my daughter won't eat it no matter how much I try to sneak it into her diet. does this mean that she's a vegetarian? or is this just a stage?

i have 3 kids all 7 - 8 yrs apart so it was like i was starting all over on some stuff...with my first i was nervious n felt bad giving her choc milk. n with my second i was told it is healthy for him...n let him at it...he is 8 goin on to 9 now n he still has his glass after school...but never thought i can give it to my toddler...but the orange juice is somthing different. she loves oranges. i cut the orange into wedges n the cut the wedges in half then i cut the orange off the peel...my girl loves it more cause she is teething n loves to eat more then having a sip out of her cup..

i didn't know chocolate milk is also good for my toodlers, and with the juice and stuff i found the mots for tots has a great variety of different flavors, my twin boys love em! and also, it is already watered down and has 20% less sugar

It's nice to have the reassurance that chocolate milk is not unhealthy, before my son began drinking white milk regularly and without a fight, we would add a little chocolate syrup. I was always worried about the extra sugar that we were adding, I was also forgetting about all the benefits of getting milk into him!

Well it is not the first time I have seen chocolate milk promoted as an option rather than white milk, I would like to know who is providing this advice. I have an issue with it for two reasons. Firstly, while the milk itself may have the same qualities of regular milk, it is also packed with sugar and chocolate. There seems to be a philosophy that if the only way you can get your child to eat something that is good for them is by adding something that is not good, do it. I find that does not address the problem and it leads me to my second reason. Child need to develop tastes and sometimes this takes time. The latest research I have come across which is written by dieticians talks about introducing and to keep introducing foods to kids while not adding any pressure or bribes around the food. The other important aspect is for parents to model good eating behaviour. I find it really interesting how many times I see parents trying to cajole their children into eating something healthy when they are not eating it themselves. Kids pick up on that very quickly.

All this is well and good, but my son is allergic to so much. I have to sit and read every label in the store t see what he can and can't eat. Do you know how many things have asorbic acid (vitamin c) and rice flour? And both are organic and natural food ingredients. I wish I could find out what asorbic acid comes from. My doctor has me hold my son off of any of the other allergy foods until after 2 and keeps him on formula.

I found it interesting that they promoted chocolate milk, this is something that I have been giving my toddler to entice him to drink more milk since he is not very fond of white milk, so it is good to know that this is not frowned upon. I also found it surprising that Pizza was a recommendation and I will not be as hesitant to allow my son to have some the next time the rest of the family is enjoying a slice.
