I like this article. I refuse to feed my kid fatening stuff after seeing what the kids on maury povich were fed I'm so afraid of giving him the wrong thing. Also I wish they would sell toddler foods that didnt contain so much pasta.

For kids that want to drink soda and be like Daddy I've found the perfect solution. Jucie Juice makes carbonated juice drinks now. My son thinks it's soda and loves it. Just have to make sure he sees me open the can and pour it into cuppy. Thinks he's having soda but instead getting something that's good for him. It's great.

this is a wonderful attribution for parents everywhere that are clueless or confused on what to give their child for a snack. not to mention you'll be satisfied with the nutrition and your child will be happy with the taste.

Agree with BEPG. Eating healthy food is the best way to get a toddler to eat that way too. Children are always wanting to be like big people. If big people are drinking soda...they too are going to want soda. One of my twins is always at the counter when I am preparing meals. He eats onions, tomatoes, avocado and pretty much anything I am cooking with he samples. Kids are going to eat what they see the adults or bigger kids eating.

This article gave me a number of ways to be creative when it comes to providing snacks for my picky two-year old. Our pediatrician stated that our son will let us know when he's hungry and not force him to eat when we eat. Thank you for the great advice, interesting article.

My daughter is having a hard time switching from the bottle to the Sippy cup. I have bought SO MANY Sippy cups its crazy. I do find the one Sippy cup that has a soft straw attached to it works best. Her doctor told me to only give her water in her bottles. If she wants milk or juice she has to drink it from her Sippy cup. This has made the switch a little easier.

Lots of great ideas. My daughter eats pretty well though. Breakfast is either an egg with strawberries on the side or a blueberry pancake... or cheerios. Snacks - she loves those little Dan-o-nino yogurts. I also get Mott's all natural Applesauce in difference flavors. She likes cheese, whole wheat crackers and cannot live without Blueberries, Strawberries and Bananas. She's just getting into avacado slices too.

I agree with you, and this article. The hardest part is getting your child to eat healthy the way you want her too. When she has an aunt and grandparents that spoil the heck out of her with fruit snacks, juice/soda, and candy. Overbearing relatives is a real issue that I'd love to read an article on how to deal with.

the truth is, eating unhealthy foods around your children, or sharing these foods with them is thhe only way your child develops an interest in them. You have to live the example you want to set.
