My younger sister at 1st hated when i took my nefews cup away from him when he would stay the night here. Once i had explained why that it could cause tooth decay she was fine w/ it an started doing it at her house. Although now she is back to giving it to him bc she doesn't like to hear him cry how can I help she even gives him his binki on top of the cup????

My son is 14 months old andd sadly still wakes up 2-3 times at night. I have tried giving him one less ounce it doesn't work for me he just cries more and wakes up more. He was doing goodd at one point waking up once a night but then he went back to his old habbits. I have tried ignoring him when he sleeps but he won't stop crying til he gets abottle. I can't wait to be able to sleep throughout the night without him waking up. Does anyone have any advice or tips?

If my daughter can simply eat enough during the day, I'm confident that she would sleep during the night. She is too old in my opinion to be waking up for a bottle.... she's almost 10 months! I am eager to get medical advice, because I have too many concerns. Can't wait to fully sleep through the night!

I'm having a lot of problems with my six month old and sleeping. He stills wants to nurse on average at least twice a night, and I am not sure what to do about it. Most of the time when he wakes up, he will cry until I nurse him.

This seems like a helpful way to eventually stop the night time feedings, but if a breastfeeding mother such as myself has a 15 month old that still wakes up at least 2-3 times a night and won't stop screaming until he nurses, what do you do?

Ok, this sounds great and i am going to try this but i have 2 question what age should this start at N should i feed her less from night to night or from week to week? my baby is 6 months and she wakes up about 2 times during the night she knows when her feedings r and she wants them now. So i am hoping she dosent get fussy b/c i am feeding her less N b/c she loves her food!

This article does not mention babies that refuse the bottle and sceam allllll night if they don't get their night time snack. I have three children and this method did not work for any of them. I have been trying this with my 8 month old and it is a no go. All kids are diffrent this just has not worked for us.

I'm not to sure of other's sleeping routines, but I have found that if I let my 4 month old daughter take 3 2 hr naps per day she will stay awake until 10pm and sleep until 6am. I am feeding her about 6 oz with some rice cereal in it about 9 right before I do her bath. She will try to wake up about 4, but giving her the paci puts her right back to sleep instead of feeding her.

This sounds great (in Theory) I even bought a book about how to do it cutting out oz by oz one feeding at a time. My twins are 8 mth old and we tried this when they were 6mths old. It did not work for us. Instead of them getting up 2 times to eat, it ended up being every couple of hours and lots of moaning and crying in between because they were hungry :+( they were suppossed to drink more milk throughout the day (thats what the book said) but they did not want to. So I figured I'd rather get up 2-3 times with each of them than be up all night. all babies are different though so good luck!

This is a great idea. Although my math makes the cutting back one ounce per night over two weeks a little tricky (14 oz overall), my problem is the article doesn't mention what age this recommendation applies to and how do breast feeding moms like me apply that? Should I change to a bottle for the night (pumped milk)? I can see that that alone might make him stop wanting to nurse. My son is 5 1/2 month old and wakes once or twice at night.

I will try this tonight, it seems smart to feed a baby less if your baby is use to eating at night time.

My daughter is 6 months old & perhaps she is young enough that this article doesn't pertain to her yet, but her doctor has said nothing about cutting back on night time feedings. I breastfeed and I've also never heard about the sugars from breastmilk remaining in the mouth to cause tooth decay, but I can see that being true. I guess I need to ask the doctor at our next visit.

For dreagant, I suggest soothing classical music. My hubby works nights, so I feel your pain. I also sing in my off-key terrible voice, but it seems to calm down our little guy. I wrote in another no sleep article before reading this one... will try cutting back on feedings, tx to the author will let you gals know how it works out for us.
