thank you for the article. My baby sleeps throught the night however she can't fall asleep on her own. We tried pretty much everything but she would wake up the moment we put her on the crib. my mother thinks that she doesn't want to be alone, is that possible? I am going back to work in a few weeks and I need to help her fall asleep ealier than 11pm but she wants me to lay down with her and the moment I get up or move her to the crib she's up. I really don't know what to do.

My daughter won't sleep unless there's noise. Is that normal? How can I get her to sleep without noise?

HELP HELP HELP, MY SON IS 9 MONTHS OLD AND WONT SLEEP IN HIS CRIB AT NIGHT! HE WILL SLEEP IN HIS PLAY PEN DURING THE DAY TIME FOR NAPS BUT NOT AT BEDTIME. HE SLEEPS THREW THE NIGHT WITH ONLY ONE FEEDING AND GOES RIGHT BACK TO SLEEP. HE REFUSES TO SLEEP IN ANYTHING AT NIGHT EXCEPT HIS BABY CARRIER. IVE TRIED SEVERAL TIMES TO BREAK HIM OF THIS HABIT BUT I GET SO SAD WHEN HE CRIES. PLUS I AM VERY SCARED THAT HE WILL GET AN ARM OR LEG STUCK BETWEEN THE BARS IN THE CRIB. ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE?

Very Helpful hints on helping baby sleep, my sons been sleeping threw the night since 3 months old but now has began waking up every night a few times a night, crying. Or he will go to sleep and be in his crib then wake up almost every night crying and ill pick him up and rock him back to sleep and put him back in his bed and he crys again, not sure what to do but will try some of these suggestions, if anyone can give any hints or suggestions, would be greatful. This article is helpful but doesn't mention our family's #1 sleep saver: the pacifier! As an added bonus studies show that pacifier use doesn't decrease the rate of breastfeeding and might be helpful in SIDS prevention (for babies over one month old)!

My daughter's on a pretty routine schedule already and she's 2 1/2 months. We just have to work on moving her schedule back a few hours and we'll be set.

It is really difficult for me to get used to this baby. My oldest slept the whole night through at 6 months (the age of my youngest) and now my youngest still gets up at least twice a night. The part that is really frustrating is he will sleep for 4 hours (8pm-12am) then back in bed by 1am but then he is up at 3am and 5am....why?! I was looking through this article hoping for some tips, however, it contained everything I already do except "cry it out" because it is not a good home to do that in. We live with their grandparents so, it isn't an option.

My baby slept so well at first but lately it has been a challenge to get her to sleep in her crib on her own. With my busy schedule it is important for me to get her back on track. i am going to definately try some of these techniques and hopefully we will all be resting better at night!

I think I will try some of these techniques. my little one is 11 weeks and gives me 5-6 hours at a time. I'm still reaching for that 8 hour stretch :)

I have noticed that when I swaddle my 2 week old and just hold him after his feeding he falls asleep. A lot of the time he finds a way to let his arms out and sleeps with one arm out near his face. Another thing is I give him to dad to burp after breastfeeding and this keeps my son from just needing to be in my arms.

My son is becoming more adjusted to going to bed in his crib quite smoothly. For a long time I couldn't get him to sleep anywhere but in his swing. I've since bought him a nice mobile and moved from the bassinet to a crib. He loves the extra space to stretch out with his glow-worm.

We chose to let our first CIO and she began falling asleep pretty easily within a month or so. Our second is 7 mos. now and definitely more clingy, so I follow my heart and soothe him in my arms until he can be transferred to the crib or cosleeper.

I like the information on this article and ive tried everyhting to get baby to sleep but for some reason my son who is only 6 months old does not like to go to sleep at a certain time when it comes to his bed time. He takes a scheduled nap time but when it comes to going to bed at 9pm he will sleep for an hour or 2 and then wake back up and wont go back to sleep until 2am. Plus he wont sleep all ngiht. What can i do to get him to sleep all night and have a scheduled bed time?
