This is a good article, especially for the younger ages and solids, but I still breastfeed my 8 month old and he still nurses 6 times a day. I think a little better information about breastfeeding older babies would have been nice.

this article really helps! As a first time mother you wonder why your baby is getting fussy even after eating, I started feeding him more and everything was ok:) Babies at that 6month mark are hitting another growth spirt so it was nice to read i was feeding him enough.

I guess I thought I wasn't feeding him enough. My little one breastfeeds about 6 times a day now, and gets food in the morning and evening. I might just throw in a bit of food in the afternoon now. He is 5 months old, and loves his sweet potatoes!

Oh my goodness! I love this article! My next worry after my daughters poop issues would be this! I am always wondering "Am I giving her enough of everything she needs daily" telling me how many bottles she needs is always helpful since she is inlove with her bottles she would take a bottle over a jar of veggies anyday! which is funny.. We give her a bottle in between breakfast and lunch and dinner and a bottle at night. she gets a jar of fruits and a jar of veggies sometimes some meat... and yogurt as a snack or her cinnamon snacks. usually its yogurt. so it is nice to know that i am on the right track.. phew. thanks huggies you guys are helpful not a lot of pediatricians tell you all this and go into detail like the should. This was helpful as my three week old son seems to need more than expected to fill him up. good to know that he isn't out of the expected feeding range.

This was helpful - our little one has been slow to warm up to chunky foods, so we're taking it slow.

This article is great..... although it is giving me a complex. My little man is 5 1/2 months old and one month ago i introduced solids, i started with sweet potatoes, then did apples and now onto bananas. My little guy is still nursing often, but eats over 1 1/2 cups of food a day. i thought it might be too much but it seems to be what he wants. I then read a comment that "remember each baby is different" Thank You! I am not terribly concerned since he is only in the 5th percentitle for weight and 75th for height :) But it is a great guideline to follow. Thank you huggies!

Every child is different and unique to eating habits. I had to adjust to my two boys picky ways.
