I think that this is also a great read and has many helpful hints for potty training success. I can't wait to try a few of these out with our daughter.

All of these are great ideas and suggestions. I found the potty seat invaluable, so their little bottoms don't fall in. Keeping a book or something to look at while they are in there for longer periods of time trying was also helpful. I also found that for boys you could put things into the toilet, like Cheerios, and then they could aim at them. Putting in food coloring so that the water changed color after they used the toilet can sometimes be a motivator also. Encouraging them to be the ones to flush makes them feel big and important, and then they won't be afraid of the noise. Don't forget to teach good clean up etiquette - washing hands, putting trash in the proper locations, etc.
