My daughter is about to be 7 months old and my whole life ive listened to metal and as well as through out my pregnancy and since the day she was born she has always fallin asleep to it as well as now so if you listen to a certain type of music through your pregnancy try putting on alittle of that when you lay them down to sleep it works for me :)

My little one will only go to sleep if I'm the one who puts her down for the night, it doesnt matter if she is still awake or asleep it has to be me. Even if she falls asleep in her daddys arms if he tries to put her down she wake right back up and will scream

i have found that giving her a bath before her last feeding before bedtime seems to relax her, i dim the lights, then put her in her bassinet, even if she's half a sleep she will go ahead and sleep.

What makes my little girl fall asleep FAST, is getting a bath! She loves it. I usually feed her cereal and bottle right before the bath (good idea cause she makes a mess) and then after that she is sooo sleepy and just falls right to sleep in her swing or bed. Try it!

I got licky with both of our children. they both slept thru the night after a month of being home. I am a stickler for schedules, so I made sure every night was the same. Id give them a warm bath, lotion them up, and then Id make a bottle and cuddle into the living room chair (with everyone else around doing their own thing so there was always noise). and we would rock. Even now my youngest is 10 mohts and he knows, what to expect. I think its easier when they know what to expect.

so our son micheal will fall asleep around 9-930 and mommy doest get home from work until 11 and i try to get some things done so i can go to bed faster cause he wakes up between 4-6 am .ok for daddy but hes up wide awake up at that time and mommy just wants to sleep but to get him to sleep we have to rock him and sing to him for him to sleep and also put white music on. without it he will wake up during the night, Does anyone know a way we could get him to sleep when he is tired without rocking him every single time or will he out grow this stage? he is five months old and he will also wake up from scooting all the way to the end of the crib and he bumps his head off of the crib. and he will not take the pacifier!

My daughter won't take a pacifier. She refuses to use her bouncer or swing, but she likes to suck on a bottle to fall asleep. It seems to work, but unfortunately it's a very bad habit. Any tips on how to break this habit without sleepless nights?

Have you tried the Soothie pacifiers yet. They are amazing. Shaped like mothers nipple. Babies are more prone to take these over any other pacifier.

any ideas out there for an 8.5 mo old that wakes in the middle of the night for a bottle? He certainly doesn't NEED that night feeding but I don't know how to break the habit without breaking my sanity. I am one of those people who are very very crabby if I don't get enough sleep needless to say, Im not getting along with many people in my life right now... good thing we are getting married in 2.5 months. Ughhh someone help... need this 25 pound baby to sleep through the night!!! 8.5 months of this is crazy!!!!

Give him a bottle with water in it or a pacifier. Letting him get used water will make it easier to keep sweet drinks away from him when he's older, and when he likes water, water bottles make it easier to transition to a cup too.

Review 17 for Get The Baby To Fall Asleep

I couldn't agree more about packing ahead of time. With my first, for some reason I waited 'till the very last second to actually pack the bag, maybe thinking that it would somehow be the most exciting time to do it. It was a scheduled c-section because she was breech and what ended up happening was I spent the entire morning writing in my pregnancy journal about how excited I was to finally see her. By the time my husband got home from work and we needed to leave, I hadn't even styled my hair or put on a speck of makeup. I tried to tell myself that none of that really mattered anyway, but looking at the hospital pictures, I did look twice as exhausted as most! And the hospital bag...hurriedly thrown together after discovering the slippers my mother had given to me didn't fit. I was a mess, so I can imagine how soothing it would be to have a bag packed and ready by the door a month ahead!

Schedules are oh so necessary, but sometimes so difficult to start. It is essential to stick to the routine though if you ever want any sanity or to get anything done. Baby learns to like routine too as they know what to expect.

We bought my son a cd to put him to sleep. When he was 1 yr and 3 months we decided to start putting him on a schedule. Needless to say, it was horrible the first few days. He would cry and sometimes vomit because of crying but after a few days he started getting sleepy around that time (4 hours after he wakes up). He is now 21 months and has accustomed to his napping schedule.
