PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, take folic acid!!! Lack of folic acid in a womans diet prepregnancy & thru the 1st month has been linked to spina bifida. I have a folic acid deficiency, MTHFR, and had given up on hopes of becoming pregnant so I didn't take it prepregnancy. My baby is now being checked for spina bifida occula, the mildest form, due to a sacral dimple above her hiney crack.

I recently came across a different kind of prenatal vitamin. It's in a powder, and called Premama. I know it's brand new, but I think it's worth a shot!

I was under the impression that taking medicine with milk reduces the effect of it.

i found a great gummy prenatal vitamin... not the best tasting, but goes down easy and doesnt have alot of the fillers other prenatals have that often can add to morning sickness ^_^

All you need is to do is to eat healthy before, during, and after pregnancy. You need to take a good multivitamin to cover the basics, but some women really do need a prenatal care vitamin supplement to help them along while they are pregnant. The main focus would be on your diet and what foods you are taking in-healthy diet includes, a variety of foods, especially salad because it is a good source during your baby's/babies' growing stage of where the brain develops. It is also good for keeping the expectant mother from not being constipated. So, having a low-sodium, low-fat, low carbohydrate, and sometimes low caloric diet are all good to follow if you want to achieve a healthy baby/babies.
